ExploreLearning surveyed teachers from 7 US and Canadian districts who had used Gizmos with their students. Our Professional Development team members regularly use this valuable feedback to reflect on implementation strategies and set professional development training goals for a personalized approach to supporting district success. A wide range of educators from elementary to high school were surveyed online about the program.
While surveys were customized for each district based on the implementation strategy and information needs, one open-ended question was asked on all of the surveys: “ How has using Gizmos contributed to student learning in your classroom?”
Gizmos delivers results
Responses showed a variety of ways that Gizmos positively impact student learning. Several teachers noted that Gizmos allow students to observe processes that they would not otherwise have access to in a traditional, physical lab. Others mentioned increased student engagement and enjoyment through technology with Gizmos. Gizmos also opened up opportunities for Gizmos to incorporate student-centered, exploration-based learning activities in their classrooms.
